    The "Fault" is there to protect the engine by design. When the knock sensor detects any pinking under high boost it shuts the injectors down until the pinking stops. These engines are designed to run on a higher octane fuel than we have in the UK, this combined with the engine being chipped produces pinking at certain RPM.
    We removed the sensor from the block gave it a separate earth, road tested, the fault was not present, re-fitted the sensor, and the fault re-occurred.
    We have advised the customer to try using an octane boost or drive a bit more sedately
