Sory Tony, Just typing in a hurry, yes it's a mechanical vane type MAF (I only wanted to distinguish it from the hotwire 3AM/5AM meters). I was wondering if it had been adjusted, unfortunately there are no "calibration seals" or paintmarks inside so I can't tell if it has been moved. I was concerned that if the ECU is wrongly calibrated for the engine then by weakening the spring tension too much I might cause the MAF to endstop before the engine has reached max airflow and therefore make it run weak at the top end.
