Hi all, I have a 2000 VW Lupo 1.0L petrol, engine code ALD with a Motronic ME 7.5.10 engine management system. The car is a non - starter. There is no spark, the fuel pump runs during cranking and I didn't check for injection pulse. The most thing I need to query is there is trouble code 16985 - internal control module memory check sum error stored and won't clear (using Vag - Com), with KTS the code is 4259 - Control unit digit compont faulty. I have checked lives and earths going to the ECU (load tested them) and suspect the ECU as being faulty. Has anyone came across this? would it cause the non - start? and has anybody seen any problems with these that may cause ECU failure. Sorry for the long post but I did not want fitting a ECU without being as sure as possible.Thanks for your time. Ronan
