    Peugeot 406 1998/9(T) 1.9 td DHX - Loses RPM signal and rev counter, rattles because timing is out Archived Message

    I have got this Peugeot 406 in at the moment,which sometimes loses the rpm signal & the rev counter & then rattles because the timing is going out.Sometimes it starts ok with the rev counter working fine & injection timing fine.when it loses the signal the rev counter usually flips right around whilst cranking & then nothing when started,sometimes it just flicks up a bit.
    It is getting a good crank signal to the ecu & whilst it is running ok there are two other sinewave signals at the ecu.when it loses the rev counter these two signals are also missing.
    Gunner has kindly given me some help on some wiring info & says that the crank signal goes through the aircon relay.
    I have 3 faults ;
    injection signal (permanent fault)
    rpm signal (only when losing rev counter obviously)
    Air con compressor relay(sometimes actual sometimes not)
    There is a fault with the blower or aircon with it running at a very low speed with the ignition on and the fan turned off.
    Could someone tell me where the a/c relay is & supply me with a wiring diagram & pin diagram or give me some advise please.
    Apparently this vehicle had a front offside wing replaced. i have tried another s/hand ecu.
    sorry for the long post,& thanks gunner for your help this morning,
    Regards, Andrew
