Hi Nick, 2500 mb does sound high. My van ('03 T5 Transporter 2.5 TDI 174 BHP) gets up to about 2400 mb if I really try hard up a big hill. Your positive deviation code sounds like it is making too much boost and using limp home as you say. The the boost control valve (N75) is the ecu's way of controlling the wastegate or in the case of a VVT turbo (variable vane turbo) the amount of twist the vanes have to spill the boost. So given your code it's probably worth changing that first. I think it's about £40 ish. If your scanner allows it you can cycle the BCV with the engine running and listen for a slight clunk. I don't know how to check it with a meter/scope.
