fixed !!!!!! hi thanks to all who responded removed sheathing from loom and inspected each individual wire found two wires cracked with age and heat (gone brittle)slightly burnt where they had touched. trouble was - they were the throttle switch wires (closed throttle plate - fuel cut off)and obviously do not pass high current. looked further through each of the wires and found another broken and burnt wire that runs close to other two. this was the injector switched earth (does carry current)i reckon this wire was touching the other two (one of which was the engine sensor earth return (low cuurrent)back to the ecm.i think this got high current and passed it back to damage ecm. repair shop agrees that this would have definitely been the burn for the 1st ecm repair. they have doubts for the second burn. we have re-newed coolant sensor and repaired wires. customer has spent enough - if it goes again it is straight down to the breakers yard. again thanks for all who helped fingers crossed ken hudson
