Peug 205 1.9 GTi XU9J1 (DFZ) 1992 Bosch LU - Running rough, no power Archived Message

This is one of those cars you wish you'd never started. Complaint of running roughly, no power etc etc. Transpires car was originally a 1.6 then the 1.9 was thrown in. ECU and Dist numbers check out as correct but recent new/refurbed AFM does not as it has a mixture adjuster. Autodata CD info is a bit worrying as it states CTS as 5.6v @ 20 deg rising to 9.8v @ 80 deg whereas the one on the car is 4.6v falling to 0.5v. Trying to establish a base setting for the AFM, Autodata states 5.8 - 6v at idle but I have to bottom the mixture screw out to get anywhere near it. I have replaced the O2 sensor as the wiring had melted at some stage on the exhaust and been bodged up. The car starts but is reluctant to idle and wont respond to throttle until you up the fuel pressure by squeezing the return pipe. After it has run for about 10 mins it suddenly cheers up and runs better. I just need clarification on the Autodata figures before I dive in. Sorry for the long post
