Seems the O2 sensor was the culprit. I had replaced the unit but not run the engine when I posted as the fuel tank was out of the car. With the new sensor fitted and the AFM set to around 3v it started fine and could be driven 'out of the box' with no further work needed other than a tweak on the idle screw. Lovely O2 pattern and perfect emissions. Emailing Autodata to lodge a concern re their info on this one. Andrew
