Vauxhall Astra 1.7DT 2002 - Wastegate Regulating Valve Malfunction Archived Message

    Hi all,

We've got this vehicle which has the Y17DT engine in it. When it's hot and you drive it hard, the MIL will come on and it will go into limp home mode as the power delivery becomes flat (does not boost much).

It keeps setting a P1125, Boost Control Regulating Valve, Circuit Malfunction. If you let it cool down a bit and restart, light is out and all is ok again for a while.

New valve fitted (down under the servo) and hoses checked. Problem still there. MAF sensor output always seems ok (upto 4.5V output and signal fairly clean and responsive). Just checking through the wiring now, but don't expect to find much a miss there.

Autodata has these valves measuring 5 ohms but both new and old measure 16 ohms!

Starting to think its an ECU intermittent fault as this thing is bolted right on the top of the engine and is covered in oil/dirt - not the best location for a piece of electronics.

Anyone seen any problems with these ECUs? Suspect either a faulty component or dry joint...may be worth taking apart.

    Thanks in adcance.

    Sean.
