    Hi Tony

Many thanks for your observations, you may be onto something

Just before Christmas we serviced a 1.4 96 Corsa that was running ok, the plugs were replaced with NGK. When i got back after the holiday it was recovered back in as it would not start

The car turned over and was trying to catch but not quite making it, took plugs out and they were wet. I had spark and fuel, dried plugs and put back in and after a few cranks it spluttered into life, so i suspected it was flooding for some reason. The only other reason i could come up with was that we had put 15w40 oil in, and maybe it was having the same problem as the Zetec's, so we drained and put in some 5w30

The customer has now been using it for a week, with no problem

Having read your post, maybe there is a problem with the NGK plugs we fitted. We keep a stock of NGK plugs for the fast moving numbers, but normally we use Unipart plugs which are made by Bosch and had no problems. May be time to run the NGK stock down and stick with Bosch

    Peter

PS: Maybe the Mondeo NGk's are not lasting for the recommended mileage change, so they decided to make the gap smaller to start with, so prolonging the life of the plug
