Porsche 911 targa F reg motronic - Cranks over but non start Archived Message

    Hi all,

First off all this car is not in my workshop... thank god, but I am going to have to fix it.

Engine cranks but fails to start due to lack of low tension. We have supply at the coil. I believe fault to be the lack of signal from rpm and crank sensor but it seems incredible that both have failed. Have checked at the plugs of these sensors( fitted to bracket on passenger side of engine that look the same as those on a BMW 525), I could find no signal from either so I checked both for resistance. One marked DG has pins 1+2 shorted but oc to pin 3 from either and the other sensor is oc between any of the 3 pins. I trust these sensors are ressistive and not halls. Any input welcome.

    Charles
