Thanks Mike and Peter for your replys, I went back last night. With car on ramp it is easy to see sensors. The mechanic that did the clutch is correct in that the sensors are on a bracket of the engine so they, them selves have not needed to be moved, but the cables do show signs of being moved and un believable as I find it, it would appear both sensors have gone open circuit and not short circuit. Just one other point both sensors look like cavalier abs sensors, though obviously have differing plugs. I also took ECU no. Bosch 0 261 200 078 TYP 911 MWS 01 Charles
