Coming in a bit late-but I do find emissions interesting-can I say (and Im only a humble salesman) that I when I train on emissions I would tell my customer to disregard CO & HC readings if lambda and O2 are high-If the 02 sensor appears to be switching but you have this condition there is exhaust leakage- and as you stated there IS exhaust leakage on this vehicle. This then has a diluting effect on ALL other emisiions readings CO CO2 and HC therefore your 200 or so PPMs (HCs) are REALLY higher than that! This you could prove if you had cured the exhaust first but left the misfire and measured again. Assuming you measured AFTER the cat, the dilution of the leak PLUS the effect of the CAT working means that a residual reading of 200PPM would be really quite high. The only thing that suprises me is that you say the lambda sensor appeared to switch OK. I would have expected it to stay low, given the unburned air passing thru the exhaust manifold. Phew. Ron.
