Skoda Fabia 1.2 CBZ 2011 - Oil warning message - Fixed #

Year of Manufacture *: 2011
Engine Size and Code *: 1197 CBZ
( Optional ) Scanner Used: VCDS
( Optional) Fault Codes: Oil warning

Serviced this last week, 26k.
This week customer has an image of an oil can on central display matrix.
Customers description, it came on red then flashed along with a stop message.
The AA couldn't find any fault(or warning message)so followed car back to us.
No fault codes in engine or instrument.
No warning light or message since.
Also no oil light before engine start...is this right?
We used 5w30(as per suppliers catalogue) oil and Fram filter. No catalogue choices for spin on filter.
Looking at VCDS advanced measuring blocks there are a considerable number of fields for oil info in both ecu's.
Am I chasing my tail 'cause this engine needs a very specific oil?(not asked the dealer yet, they are shut now!).
Could this be yet another software glitch needing reflash to ecu's?

Is this the oil filter(metal can) type that sits vertically facing downwards ,drivers side,top of engine.?

It is very easy to leave the old rubber sealing ring in the oil filter housing,so when you fit a new filter you end up with the filter not fitting correctly.Check this out,and I would also suggest you fit a genuine vag filter.They are not expensive.

Spot on Andy, thanks.
The old seal(Mann)submerged in oil so difficult to see. Fram filter had a hard plastic face without seal so again, not obvious.
Back to a Mann filter this time.
Take your point about OE not expensive, but also not available quickly here.
There is no conventional oil pressure warning light, instrument measured value says "oil pressure>=to system spec." with engine running.

For info,
The genuine VAG filters for this engine are MANN & have the same MANN part number as aftermarket stamped next to the VAG number.

2 x different filter applications dependent on model year & both have been modified since the original fitment.
