There is debate in scientific circles as to whether or not global warming is accelerating. I am convinced it is, as is Jame Hansen, who all along has warned that it very well might. And if it is accelerating, most of the modelling which doesn't show this is likely wrong. There is now a distinct likelihood that the planet could heat by over 4 deg Celsius by this century's end.

When you heat the planet with the equivalent of 5 atomic bombs (Hiroshima) per second, that is what happens = 50,000 tonnes of TNT per second, or 43,200 megaton bomb explosions every single day.
