In connection with which, there is the world famous Siccar Point on the coast of Berwickshire which features as number 1 in the IUGS list of the entire world's most important historical geological sites. Have any of you heard of it? It is the spot where the true science of geology started, and the founder of the science was James Hutton (1726 - 1797) , who should, in my estimation, and at the very least in Scotland, and possibly in the wider world, be as famous as Darwin or Newton. To have the honour of No 1 is a huge recognition from those who really know.

PPS - Later Roger Kirkpatrick was himself murdered by another clansman in a private quarrel. The proud peaceful tradition in Scottish history.
