Yes, Scotland's beauty has been long in the gestation....when I visit Scotland, and last year I spent a few days on Colonsay, and the year before camped in the Outer Hebrides - I can almost feel the sentience of the rocks in their immediacy and presence, their own understanding of the place they have in our lives; no inanimate substrate to our existence, but possibly the very essence of it.
