The Times was a far better paper, its foreign coverage was really rather good, which is why I could see the civil war in Sri Lanka coming two years before it began. The sale of The Times to the Australian led to its gutting, which was a great pity, I seem to remember that the Insight Team from the ST went first.

There was nothing to read until The Independent began (I had hope of The Correspondent but it was a flop). Every time The Independent was revamped it got worse.... but I've mentioned this before.
