There is some truth in that. Divide and conquer.

We should be completely tolerant of immigrants, but why are we in favor of smashing up middle eastern countries then creaming off people to do the dirty jobs in our own countries + creaming off some of their educated elite that we don’t have to pay to educate?

Another truth bomb fwiw. Why oh why are we we bombing them? .. that question remains in abeyance. For their own good perhaps : ). We gain.

I’ve yet to see a clear explanation - it just seems like rather wooly thinking to me. We should be in favor of actual real, tangible development in their countries of origin, it seems to me, primarily, so they can share some of the benefits we have without actually moving.

It seems obvious, but this is not in west's interest, so fogget about it.

One, demographics rules in Europe and USA (Russia and China too. Nevermind Japan : )). The magic formula of 2.1 children per couple, just to pay pensions if anything. Hence immigrants are interesting.
