Unfortunately, Mixed member proportional voting (MMP) doesn't necessarily lead to anything worthwhile either. New Zealand abolished FPP 31 years ago, and the same old politicians are as entrenched as ever they were. Of our 120 members of parliament, only four have spoken out against the genocide in Gaza: all of them are young women.

Our MMP governments have sent troops to Iraq and Afghanistan, and our navy is part of the U.S.-mandated effort to attack Houthi R2P forces.
