So you don't think there's any psychological ambiguity in people's beliefs and how they are influenced by self/class interest? Like whether Luke Harding sincerely believes the Russians are under the bed, or whether Andrew Marr sincerely believes all the basic tenets of the state religion? It doesn't seem self-evident to me. They seem convinced, but also immune to evidence. Probably some sincerely believe, some are cynical frauds and some a mixture of both.
