Thanks Subhi, just watched the Hassoun interview and found him to be an impressive, poetic speaker. Not sure I believe his rosy depictions of Syria in the past or that all Syrians today share his inclusive views towards people of different faiths and ethnic backgrounds, but I'd have to look into it more deeply. It was interesting just to sit back and listen to somebody speaking in Arabic for half an hour, watch how they make their points, construct their sentences, hold themselves etc. I've only ever watched brief soundbites before, most often selected by western media sources as the most provocative or sensational parts of speeches, so it's good to have videos like this to counter that subtle form of racist propaganda. Kudos to Eva Bartlett for getting it out there!
