Even so, Peterson's larger point is true and important. Fixing climate change is not a uniting event, it is not easy to fix, and the complexities of the situation would call for a complexity of solutions which will by implemented how, and by whom?

Stop using fossil fuels, you say. Well, that's easy! Thanks for your brilliant input! I don't think anyone's even thought of that.

Of COURSE climate change is divisive, quite predictably, inevitably. The masses are addicted, the suppliers are the greatest vested interests in history, and those who want to solve it are natural born tyrants who will attack everything and anything even remotely associated with Western Civilization and White Masculinity!

What one does not want to be is at either of those extremes. Get behind innovation, not divisive ideologies! Get behind truth and justice, not emotion and mob rule. Save your soul, not the world!

You know what people who go out to 'save the world' are? Monsters. Tyrants. Every single time. NEVER trust a world saver, a world changer and a people changer. Save your soul and help people instead. And there is a world of difference between helping someone and changing someone. There is a world of difference between helping the world and saving the world.
