Hmmm..agreed dovetail it's b**locks....to my mind a vote on electoral reform that isn't an exercise in divide-and-rule and austerity are the main issues...the article exemplifies navel-gazing of the "on" Guardian variety...and elitist belief in their own propaganda..Corbyn can offer a, "peoples vote" after all it's not, "unconstitutional" to do so is it me hearties!? It was our Queen who demonstrated her disapproval by wearing, "two hats" (as it were), after all! No Brexit isn't the most important issue facing Britain at the moment and that's the point..it seems to me that the article is an example of leftist toadying...Corbyn can play a, "peoples vote" with a straight back....he can't now have this govt. forced to the ballot box but let's remember that this was the doing of the Liberals and Tories so no shame attaches itself to Labour (although there are some in the party to whom it should), this govt. is incapable of fulfilling its obligation to abide by the mandate of the people if there is no election the next best option is to put the question (in a suitably revised form), before them again...short of bloody revolution I don't see that Corbyn has any other options open. The referendum on E.U membership was not instigated by the Labour Party..Corbyn should hold his head up and keep a firm hand on the wheel;...;"steady as she goes sah!"
