Oh, I think I get it! I wouldn't have minded so much if it had been a 'yes' to remaining in the EU, on balance. This would have merely meant the status quo and not some leap into the political and economic dark and the emergence of a leftist fantasy about some bright new future outside the EU. I think things are gonna be worse for ordinary people outside, rather than in; so, for me, that alone would mean leaving the EU was a bad idea. So I wouldn't have argued for another referendum, because the result would have been the 'right' on from my perspective. To be honest, I'm less and less inclined towards 'democracy' as it's currently practiced in the West. I'm leaning increasingly towards the Russian and Chinese models for running society.
