In other words you will be with the EU on the terms that the UK currently holds. Yes: If achievable. I would have thought that inevitably leads one to the choice of currency for Scotland. Yes: A Scottish pound would be my currency of choice and if you mean joining the Euro, No It doesn't really. Denmark is comparable in population and uses its own currency as does the Czech Republic, Sweden. Poland etc. Asides from not desiring to, there are criteria for joining the Euro. That was one of the Greek problems: the government of the day lied to get themselves onboard ( Others like Italy did also to a lesser extent) with the help of Goldman Sachs who got a whopping 600 million euros for their services... due to the way Goldman Sachs had structured it unfortunately and other circumstances that Greek hidden debt eventually managed to more than double. - A central bank issuing its own currency I reckon is central to any Independent country.
