This is what makes me angry and sad. That in a country as massively unequal, as the UK has become over the last few decades. With a huge chasm opening up between different regions and social classes, with gigantic differences between the rich and the poor, almost like they inhabit different worlds, not just different countries. That one has a ruling class that voluntarily provides a national platform... Brexit, that allows people to express their anger and frustration about life and the country, the desparation and inequalities blighting everything, the colossal injustice and exploitation, the vicious class-struggle, the grinding poverty and excessive luxury... well, it's staggering that any ruling elite would do this. Light the fuse of a form of political and social civil war and then just stand there and watch it burning, with no one strong enough to stamp it out. This really is the end of anything of 'greatness' that was left in Great Britain.
