Interesting contrast between the Board's general view of Greta Thurnberg and Shamima Begum Archived Message

Ms Thurnberg is now 16 I understand but she began her activism when she was younger. She's brave, inspiring, honest; a 'little girl' who embodies all virtues and speaks truth to power. She also describes herself as autistic which she sees as a 'special gift'. Ms Begum, 15 when she decided to join IS and went to Syria where, y'all recall, she acknowledged being unfazed by the sight of severed heads in bins - their previous owners being enemies of Islam so knew their killing was permitted. As an aside, notice the number of islamic scholars who stepped forward to correct her? Nope, me neither. Unlike Ms Thurnberg, however, she was deemed to be a child and couldn't fully appreciate what she was doing. She certainly couldn't be expected to take any responsibility for her behaviour. Goodness, she was just as much a victim as those whom IS raped, ethnically cleansed and murdered. No-one seems to be suggesting that Ms Thurnberg might be too young to fully understand the issues of climate change. Ms Begum, on the other hand, was deemed too young to understand what she was doing. So, when is 15 not 15? When the 15 year old is saying something folk like?
