What's still shocking about the truly dreadful people employed within the cosy confines of the mainstream, corporate media; is the shear level (which is really, really, low) of the mockery, sarcasm and scorn they've regularly poured over Julian Assange, viciously ganging-up on an isolated prisoner who has had very little opportunity to defend himself properly. Fundamentally, these awful journalists are paid very well to sneer and scoff at anyone who dares to question or criticise the West's golden values or actions, even if these include wars of agression amouting to genocide and the mass destruction of entire countries, virtually wiping them of the map as functioning societies. The crass behaviour of the journalists in defending the blood-stained state's actions, whilst attacking relentlessly the attempts of others, like Assange, to reveal the truth about our wars and corrupt political culture... is shameful. They seem completely lobotomised in my opinion. Journalists who appear so ignorant it's staggering. Is it a qualification? That they look like grinning and s######ing idiots to me, is probably my bad, I supppose. That important and fundamental legal principles can be roughly shoved aside; like the right to a fair trial, to be actually charged wit a crime, or the presumption of innocence, seems to mean next to nothing to them. It's not just press freedom that's at stake here, but much more. How, when so few of these journalists, have actually met Assange, do they know with such certainty, that he's such a terrible person? They make massively harmful statements about his character, like a mob whipped into a frenzy dragging some old crone to the pond and the ducking stoll. Yet, they sound completely unaware of any of this. Is that a qualificatin too for working in our media? Ignorance, stupidity and lack of any self-reflection? And what about humility? They repeatedly get so much so wrong, yet one doesn't get the feeling that this makes the slightest bit of difference to them.
