I think what Fred is saying is idiocy is not excluded from those with "some medical knowledge".
The issue here seems to be one of belief, rather than objectivity. For example I know a life long dentist who swears (and very aggressively too) that fluoridation of water is good for dental health, despite the enormous amount of evidence to the contrary.
By saying the evidence for vaccines is irrefutable, perhaps listen to Del Bigtree talking about measles. He makes a mockery of the whole argument for vaccines without any mumbo jumbo.
And as for your attack on Andrew Wakefield, it is exactly how big pharma deal with anything that might damage their profits. Those who have followed the entire Wakefield case, or looked at the vaccine evidence, know that Wakefield was on to something and that there is beyond any reasonable doubt, a very real link between autism and vaccines.
