In the modern world the only way to get a democracy into a war is to deceive kind, gentle people into thinking they are acting against an outrage... ...Syria’s tyrant, Bashar Assad... Truly, elements of Hitchens' efforts are to be welcomed in the sea of msm lies. Alas, as seen above, he too is deceiving. Fair enough, all states and their leaders might be said to be tyrannical, but it's problematic that the only agency Hitchens explicitly fingers is Assad - - 'tyrant' = 'outrage', hence, using his formula, action is needed - Hitchens merely quibbles about the 'legality' of the serial aggressor's actions, thus leaving space for the notion that legal action is preferable when in truth the USUKetc have no right to internminably meddle in ME affairs. Of course he roundly fails to mention the overwhelming tyranny of western states. Slippery and subtle is that propaganda.
