because the story of the OPCW fraud exists independently of Assad or the SAA or Russia; it is all about the White Helmets and the cooperation between GCHQ and the Dutch and other NATO agencies. It's also about the Skripal operation, where the credibility of the OPCW was also on the line, in inextricably linked to CW claims in Syria. Beyond that though, as said above, calling Assad a tyrant is only what the audience understands. (though I suspect it is also what PH thinks; one doesn't need to think that Assad is guiltless of other war crimes to understand that using CW's never made any sense, specially if his object was to kill civilians. What PH demonstrated was independent thought, and the ability to say "just because everyone says this is so doesn't mean it is, if I think it doesn't make sense". He just joined the club of those marching oot' o' step, like oor Jock!
