Way back, a small group of us who support Palestine made representations to the Committee on Standards in Public Life maintaining that lobby groups such as CFoI, LFoI, LDFoI should not exist as their memberships, including MPs and members of the HoL, were virtually supporting a foreign power and an aggressive one in the ME at that. Cast Lead had just been enacted on Palestine. There were several supporters of Israel on the Committee and we did not succeed. It was farcical. I will find a link to the Seven Principles of Public Life to which our parliaments and the members should adhere. A joke. Remember how they booted out that good woman, Jenny Tonge, and took the whip away from her and David Ward because of their support for Palestine? The Liberal Democrats Friends of Israel Twitter account is 'protected' and only members have access. |
