Lissa Johnson writes really well on this, and has also spoken out before on Syria and Salisbury, yet she seems almost invisible here. New Matilda has become obsessed by Gender politics, and forgotten Palestine and Iraq, so she is an exception. I don't often get into confrontations with people at social engagements, but the situation is similar, as my wife is always saying "your trouble is that you put them off by things like "that's bullshit", and I can hear your voice getting louder and see them shying away... But we have a whole evening talking about this and that and everything else, except the WAR, and the LIES, and then just as people are about to leave someone says "you must be busy with writing about Syria" or something like that, and off I go, and out they go. Vexing!!
