As an addendum to the train of thoughts on what Wikileaks has done/is doing to defend Assange "the man"... there remains the fact that Assange has been slandered/defamed by certain journalists. WL has two or three times mentioned its intent to litigate, in this regard. But no litigation has ever taken place. Why?
More recently, the WL website called for donations specifically to sue The Guardian, over Luke Harding's fake "Manafort met Assange" article. What's the state of play with funds raised for that call? Is the case going ahead?
Assange has been defamed and slandered for a decade but has not once been able to attain legal relief. Why not?
Perhaps these questions all have simple answers... and I'm naive for posing them. But answers might help restore human dignity and rights to the man who has been publicly silenced since March 2018 when Ecuador cut his internet access to the world (never restored).
