"There is I understand an ongoing appeal against Judge Deborah’s maxium sentence". Assange's lawyers actually dropped the appeal. Why did they drop the appeal, given he's so ill as to be still in medical ward months later, isolated, not allowed to phone his US lawyer, struggling to get a working pair of spectacles, two 2-hour visits a month often reduced in time as visitors report having to wait 45 - 60 minutes for him to be 'delivered' from his cell, etc? Was it not worth while for lawyers to appeal on his behalf? Why was he advised/pressurised to drop an appeal? A lonely voice - outside the circle of lawyers - appeals to the public around his "fears" that Assange's life is "in danger" (John Pilger... reaching out to the only TV journalist friend Assange has - Afshin Rattansi). Is Assange getting proper legal advice, is my question. Assange's two recent letters out are very short. (photographed and shared on supporter site - hand-writing verified). One refers to "a dark place" and the other refers to "profound isolation". If Assange emerges out the other side a free man, well and good. If he is mentally/physically ruined or dies, these two utterances of his will ring for decades to come. Has any other bail offender had to suffer this level of punitive treatment?
