getting far more info on it from you Well, while I'm on a roll .... This sharp-eyed court witness Emmy B (Twitter @greekemmy) has uncovered a judicial matter in the 'bail jumping' courtcase that sentenced Assange to 50 weeks in Belmarsh - when bail usually attracts a 2 week sentence or a fine: See here LINK https://members5.boardhost.com/xxxxx/msg/1566582684.html In summary: Judge twice reads out an astonishingly incorrect pre-written statement ("charged by Sweden" when there were no charges); Judge then concedes the statement is wrong when corrected by Assange himself - but proceeds to sentence him to the maximum as if the serious "charge" still applied; When court transcript is later issued, Assange's words are blanked out. Surely this is highly irregular? Does UK Judiciary have some sort of complaints council or ombudsman? Someone on twitter suggested that this amounts to cruel and unusual treatment and thus contravenes the clause "nor cruell and unusuall Punishments inflicted" from the UK's 1689 Bill of Rights. Not familiar with the law at all, but thought this an interesting point. Are higher authorities not obliged to get involved with judicial error?
