No too long ago you made a disparaging remark about the Left wishing to bring living levels down to those enjoyed by Cuban's - this raised my eyebrow a fair bit, because, if you believe our planet can continue burning up most of our resources as it currently does, we won't actually have much of a planet come the end of the century as presently we are burning through 1.7 Earths resources, yet we only have one planet, which means our wasteful, consumerist ways will have to change, meaning standards of living will drop for many and rise for some. Well, that's if you believe in fair play and that all lives are important. Hence, my considerable scepticism to talk of Green New Deals and a green, fourth industrial revolution, this based on the fact that nearly all energy sources have environmental impacts and not one can actually be considered Green. The good news is that Europe's precariat are already prepared for this less than splendid future, the bad news is, most others most certainly are not, and this includes the UK's Labour Party.
