Clearly he's being treated more harshly than an ordinary prisoner. Yes, all legal irregularities make it clear that UK Judiciary is swayed by other forces, in this matter. Shame on UK judiciary - I wonder if they care about the widespread implication of this in terms of optics, from around the world. Once one sees this pattern it becomes clear that Assange case is not proceeding in honest due process but is caught up in political considerations. Assange is a political prisoner in UK at the behest of the US. Hanna Jonasson (Swedish lawyer) reports today that Bengt Ivarsson - former head of the Swedish Bar Association - says that the investigation of Assange should be dropped entirely. Assange didn't appear in person, only in video link. When asked by the judge whether he understood proceedings, he replied: "Not really".
