Imagine. Apparently they considered him too dangerous to be taken to the court! Or the matter was so trivial that they couldn't be bothered. Which one is it? I think that his appearing in court would have attracted press attention, reminding peopl that he's still around and the authorities want the public to forget about him and not wonder about what's going on.

Bengt Ivarsson is absolutely correct. The investigation should be dropped. It should have benn dropped years ago and would have been if Assange wasn't involved. After so many years and from the beginning it was obvious that the state's case was incredibly weak, otherwise they would have charged him with something concrete, some real offence relating to the women.

The problem for the Swedes is that they don't want to drop the case because this would show what a complete waste of time and resources it's been. So instead they are choosing to let the statute of limitations do it for them. Letting the clock run down so it appears that they might have had a case if Assange had been willing to cooperate.

Personally >I don't believe they will ever charge him with a crime, because they no the Swedish court will throw it out on day one for lack of evidence and that will make them look like total, incompetent, fools.
