It is no doubt 'sad' that women showing indifference towards/ Assange's dreadful plight don't know the background but that's partly a reflection of the indifference on a vastly wider scale to the problem of sexual assaults on women and the indifference to the problem shown by men and still present at at official levels. Unless they're political or have been following the case away from the mainstream they will not see the case as much different from the usual.
