If you like Dmitry Orlov's assertion that by far the most successful form of government in modern times, as demonstrated by unequivocal actual results, is socialism with some market characteristics, pragmatism in action in other words, then a wise political form for the future would be precisely that; with written constitutions of the radical sort at which I hint in this thread. That idea of an outright, constitutionally-guaranteed outlawing of ALL excess wealth, above a very modest upper limit, has been a favourite of mine for years. You know, S, that I'm deeply sceptical about the modern myth of techie and economic 'progress', as a permanent thing. But this sort of moral and spiritual advance, as outlined in this comprehensive wealth-limitation proposal, is one form of progress which I think is real, and which is indeed to be espoused resolutely at all times. Else why bother to keep getting re-born in this spavined system that we suffer right now, if not to push it on to something better, more worthy of respect?
