No crowing, nor happy at the prospect. These are motives you are placing on him, but for him to be happy at the prospect would place him as a secret Tory. It is a ridiculous notion, and reminiscent of the 'do you condemn saddam hussein' line of reasoning inthe msm. You can hate or love one thing without doing the opposite to the other. This polarisation of thought is a great tool in the hands of the media, and the elite. From you I expect better. And, what change are we talking about? Tory back to labour? Is there an actual difference between the two? One man, even if he were a great man, does not make the party, and party politics (not personal identity) is what this system is built upon, as I am certain everyone here knows by now, except when it suits to believe otherwise. I am your advocate when we are in agreement, and I am not when we are not. Nothing has changed in that respect. In the quest to take sides with individuals people seem to forget that I (as with everyone else) has disagreed with everyone else here as much as we have agreed. Ken suggested something similar the other day (me being Keith's understudy, but made no reference to all those agreeing with him being his), but honestly it looks like cheap shots out of frustration to allude to such reasoning. Rather than being frustrated, answering the substance of the argument rather than the irk of it gets is all a little further in our understanding of the issues at hand. So, for instance, did he say he would tell you so when things went south re corbyn? I recall he did. And then he has. It may be annoying, but also, he was correct. Past being proved wrong on that little bit of pointless hope, maybe next time his views are worth listening to. That is, if you are thinking of supporting yet another party member in a corrupt system because they don't drown puppies, maybe it's worth declaring the system irredeemable despite the odd good member of parliament and underlining why. I have certainly lost any faith in it I had at one point because the sum total of my knowledge on the subject now points to the fact the system is unbeatable while we provide even lip service to it. I know plenty of others who think the same way, and they are not happy about the possibility of more Tory rule yet would be about as unhappy with a labour rule (because there are more snakes in that pit than there is anything else). |
