Well "never had a chance", I'm not sure. I certainly have liked a more robust manner (a la Trump) calling out the fake nonsense of "anti-semitism" and the BBC/Guardian for their connivance. Of course, he'd have had a lot more flak, but on the other hand, he would have gained respect for daring to speak out. Also, even if he lost, he would have highlighted these issues and planted a seed in people's minds that the mainstream media is corrupt and not to be trusted to provide accurate reporting. Of course, it's always easy to speak with hindsight. But it really is a shame that many issues were not raised -- eg the treatment of Assange, British foreign policy, NATO being obsolete, trident. |
