Derek, any opinions on commercial trophy hunting and conservation? I cannot remember where, but I remember seeing an interesting programme that was extolling its benefits, but presumed there had to be counter arguments that weren't being discussed. As with the farming being discussed here, it appeared that the argument started from a position of total acceptance and inevitability of trophy hunting and was therefore, somewhat loaded. It might be a pragmatic stance, but is it moral? Cards on table, whilst my partner and daughter do eat meat, my son and I do not. It's not a militant position, but the industrialisation of life and death is deeply unpleasant and building more roads, as they say, just produces more cars.
