RG, You are not a stupid commentator, and must be aware that under FPTP there is no space whatsoever for a new Left-leaning grouping - its been tried and tried again and all have failed - even George Galloway, with all his skills only managed to get elected twice to Parliament outside of the Labour Movement, and this was with Respect and achieved when the Iraq War was still in electors minds. The fact is simple, as far as branding goes in politics, the Labour branding still commands some respect, however after its Brexit madness its damaged goods in many working class areas, but Brexit is not the only fault line here, essentially, much of the membership is liberal progressive, not socialist, whilst much of the PLP is very much of the Right, what with its support for neoliberal economic prescriptions and wanton warmongering. At a local level, CLP's and the Party itself are used as a piggybank, such is the corruption entire families are able to live comfortable lives by by doling out paid positions to each other, be they formal party paid appointments, acting as councillors or as Assembly Members of the Welsh Assembly - the Kinnock clan is not the only clan to suckle at your's and my expense in Wales. And, of course those working class folk living in these areas of fraud are fully aware what's going on, which is why many detest the Party, realising its corruptness - despair is in the air when I visit places like Pontypool and hang out with the local poor at the few Pubs still open - its gut wrenching stuff. So, how to challenge this, how to ensure workers engage with the party again, how to remove the cancer of corruption and nepotism that's openly on display, with most of the blighters being on the far Right of the Party, if not actual Tories. Its a question I've being asking myself, and the answer does seem straightforward, claim the Party back, expose the buggers, do good work for others, be seen to being good work for others, rather than profiting from their plight. And this means getting active in the Party, being a pain in the arse in the Party, and if necessary, getting expelled from the Party, which for many of us on the Left is a bloody badge of honour. I could go on, I don't think the Party is doomed if those it was originally founded for actively attempt to get it back, and this starts at the grass roots level and at a Trades Union Council level, which, are now beginning to spring up again as the LP goes into full retreat and naval gazing, all the while with the criminal, fraudulent element pushing Starmer.
