I agree that that's how government would think, but mdma is still psychedelic (thanks Alex Shulgin), and governments have seemingly had trouble accepting widespread use of these in the past (eg how they dealt with the free festival movement/operation julie etc in uk). They'd love a soma that makes everyone comfortably numb (alcohol does the job for this more i'd say), but mdma makes you think about stuff, communicate, and increases empathy - not generally things the government would encourage i would have thought. Huxley wrote brave new world with it's critical view of state use of psychedelics before he';d actually tried a psychedelic - he then became quite pro after taking mescaline (doors of perception, the island etc). That;s not to say our rulers couldn't have increased their sophistication over time to be able to incpororate drugs like this in their systems now - after all mdma is currently in the big pharma pipeline (as are ketamin and mushrooms) - we'll see how it plays out.

- Twice-daily oral cannabis-oil doses certainly seem to help. And the one occasion when I happened on - Rhisiart Gwilym April 28, 2020, 8:13 am
