There's no doubt in my mind that UK ICU was not overwhelmed where Lombardy with twice as many ICU beds was - because we have left people at home. Early on I tried to phone 111 for advice and got an automated message about flights from other countries for an hour. My colleague who was sick was managing his symptoms at home for two days by lying on his front which increases the oxygen saturation in some people.
