Seen much bigger doses recommended in non medical quarters but it can cause stomach ulcers pancreatitis and renal stones so some caution. Nice recommends that all UK folk are on it in the winter months. It's certainly one potential explanation for higher mortality in Black people - though higher incidence of poverty, diabetes, high blood pressure and recognised gentetic differences in ACE genes may also explain.
