"I wonder who that could be and I was surprised that it was me" -I blush with him. My own experience was other. At 14 they said they were making a school magazine and wanted poems. Full of trepidation I gave them a couple. As a consequence shortly afterwards I found myself hauled before the English teacher in front of others... He declared he "...didn't believe I had written them." and that "someone" had made the accusation that I had "...plagiarised them." and was that true? I said: "So...where are these poems that "someone" says I copied?- show me." -But he had nothing but bluster. -I should have been flattered that an educated English teacher thought they were too good for this poor fool to have written, but at that moment, and probably still to this day a tiny bit of me still wants to...spit in his eye.
